WELCOME TO OUR STORY!
At Degree by Degree, our mission is to empower men & women to make small, sustainable changes today that will yield significant, lasting results tomorrow. We firmly believe that there is more to being a human than just conforming to societal ideals of size, but rather, it's about embracing and celebrating strength in all its forms.
We are dedicated to the idea that what we do physically has a profound impact on how we feel mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. These aspects of our well-being are interconnected and cannot be separated. We are committed to nurturing these connections to help people achieve holistic wellness.
We acknowledge that our worth and identity do not stem from our physical size or strength, but rather from God, who has created us uniquely and beautifully. We empower others to chase their big goals and dreams without ever losing sight of this intrinsic identity. At Degree by Degree Coaching, we're not just about changing bodies; we're about changing lives, one degree at a time, under the guidance of our Creator.
JEN NATZKE
A child of the Father, a bride to the Son, home to the Holy Spirit.
That is WHO I AM. What I DO flows from that.
I am happily married to my best friend for over 22 years and am a homeschool mom of 6 kids. After having my 4th, I took a deep dive into fitness and nutrition and how the body responds. I have run 6 marathons and countless shorter distances but strength training is my passion. I have started training my oldest son at the gym which has been fun because I get to help him learn how to lift properly and to see him set and reach goals.
Our family is pretty active (how could a house of 8 be anything but?) and we love being all together, no matter what we are doing.
My favorite lift (right now) is the deadlift. It actually is a love/hate relationship as it is always a mental game. My mind is always trying to talk me out of yanking that weight off the ground and I have to do some self pep talk. Also, pull-ups! Being able to do multiple pull-ups is super exciting as I was never able to do one!
As a coach, I love helping people look at the information their body is giving them in an objective light and make adjustments based on what is true. I believe it is important to allow what they know to trump what they feel and to build their identity on truth. This brings freedom to enjoy the journey while reaching goals. My goal is to help my clients experience this freedom and the fullness of life.
KRISTA GRUBBS
I’m a homeschool mom of three boys and have been married to my best friend for 18 years.
I have my bachelors degree in Kinesiology and worked as a personal trainer for 10 years before our boys were born.
Our family has always been involved in sports and we love doing active things together! Our current favorites are disc golf, a great way to get your steps in, and throwing the frisbee together in the yard or even sometimes in the house!
My favorite lift is probably the squat but I also really love pull-ups. I never thought I’d be doing multiple pull-ups in a row and that accomplishment makes them super fun!
As a Christian, my favorite part of coaching is helping people understand their identity isn’t found in the shifting sands of clothing size, hitting macros, how much they can squat, achievements or failures but in the one who created us in His own image.
“Inches become feet, feet become yards, yards turn into miles.”
